I thought it would be nice to have a FAQ as I get often questions about my costumes and also about the use of my pictures. :) Here you can find the answers to those questions. :)

1.) Who took all your pictures?
A: My friend Janet Drake takes all my costuming pictures. You can find her page here:…

2.) I want to share your pictures on my website/blog.
A: I'm always happy whenever someone wants to share my work. If you do so, I'd be very grateful if you would credit me and my photographer Janet Drake & link me the place where you shared my picture. Thank you!

3.) I would like to draw you/make a photomanipulation of one of your pictures.
A: First of all: Thank you for being inspired by my work. Please add credits to the picture as soon as you post it online (of me and my photographer) and link me the final piece. I'm always super excited to see other people's artworks of my costumes and I love to share them on my page! <3 I'd also really appreciate it you ask me before drawing me.

The only exceptions are pornographic pictures, pictures where I am tied up or in some sort of damsel in distress situation. I DON'T allow pictures of that kind.

4.) Can you send me the HighRes files of your pictures?
A: No, I can't. The original work belongs just to my photographer and myself.

5.) What kind of fabric did you use for your Batgirl suit?
A: I made the suit from thin stretchy pleather. I'd recommend to get 4-way stretch pleather though. I'll make less wrinkles when you move.

6.) What is your cape made of?
A: I made the cape from thin black pleather. The inside is yellow satin lining.

7.) Do you do commissions?
A: No, I don't. I am nowhere good enough to make costumes for other people & my time is also limited.

8.) How can I contact you?
The best way to contact me is through my page (… ) or via email ( knightessrouge(at) ).

9.) Where did you get your cowl from?
I got my cowl from the sculpteur ReevzFX. Please check out his work and his page for further informations.

From time to time I get a number of questions/comments about my costume being 'sexy', comments about my body, requests that I pose more sexy, or take photos where I'm tied up or in some sort of distress. I want to make it clear that all of these kinds of questions and comments are absolutely inappropriate and are in no way complimentary to me, and most certainly do not demonstrate any sort of respect for my work or myself.

If you have seen someone who has made some kind of image that violates my terms, please privately message me immediately so it can be dealt with.

Thank you.

My humble thanks for upholding the the beauty that Carmine Infantino originally saw in 'Batgirl'. Don't go sexy, stay proud and confident (that's sexy enough...)

May she continue to stand tall and proud, under your commitment, devotion and handiwork.

Bless you.., David B.

You have no idea how happy your words make me. I'm so sick of these super sexy portrays of Batgirl. I think Babs is sexy as who she is. A strong and confident woman and not because she tries to appeal super sexy.

I'm incredibly glad you like my portrayal. Thank you so much for your flattering words. It really means a lot to me!

I'm humbled and touched by your immediate response, it speaks volumes to your obvious care towards all your fans.

Yes, by staying 'above the din' professionally, it inspires so many more 'lovers of the art' to further strive for excellence in what they do.

Eh, let the 'wanna-be's' sully the image. It's wonderful to see someone stay at the top of excellence, and not compromise beauty for tawdryness.

Will look forward to all your future endeavors.

Signed, a big fan of excellence.

Hi David! :)
Sorry for my late reply.
I'd prefer the term "friend" instead of "fan". I don't want anyone to be my fan, but rather a friend. We're equal aren't we? Fan always gives the whole thing an unequal feeling. :)

I'm really glad you agree about that matter. Through the representation of female characters in the media and also several 'cosplay' examples it's difficult for people to see that there are not only people who are into being 'sexy', but that there are also normal girls who just really adore comicbook characters and want to slip into the role of their idol for a day. People often mistake the one group of cosplayers for the other. Everybody has his/her own interpretation for cosplay and there's definitely no 'main'-cosplay route. Personally though I prefer to be the ordinary girl that's just a big fan and nothing else. I'd like to keep it that way and keep the fetishization far away from me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write me! :) I hope you have a wonderful day!

:dalove:  You are incredible my dear  folks who make such requests "...more sexy," etc., just don't view you as the remarkable young woman you are! You aren't some model or plaything! You're a confident and interesting person. One I am proud to know, care for and call my friend! :)
